Hanoi - Nearly 200 companies from 29 coutries and territories around the world will display products at the 2nd Viet Nam International Feed and Livestock Industry Expo (Vietstock 2006) in HCM City today through Friday.
The exhibits will include cattle feed, veterinary medicine and equipment used in animal husbandry, said Dr Hoang Kim Giao, deputy director of the Department for Livestock Production under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, at a press briefing on Monday.
Vietstock 2006 will offer local breeders, feed producers and meat processors a chance to gain access to advanced technology and the latest products.
A delegation from the British Pig Association, led by the association's export promoter, Chris Jarkson, will also take part in the event, according to a news release by the British Embassy in Ha Noi.
The delegation will include representatives from Meriden Animal Health Ltd, Taylor Livestock Consultancy Ltd, UBP Ltd, Middleton Livestock Services Ltd and Positive Action Publications.
Jarkson will share his own experiences as a breeder of pedigree pigs with Vietnamese colleagues at a seminar to be held during the exhibition.
"Martyn Skinner, UK Trade and Investment Advisor, is accompanying the mission to assist with enquiries on trade between UK and Vietnamese businesses, said the news release.
