EWOS Canada became the first fish feed producer in North America to achieve certification with Global G.A.P., a worldwide standard for safe, sustainable agricultural and aquaculture production worldwide.
As of August 28 EWOS Canada is officially certified to the Global G.A.P. Compound Feed Manufacturing v2.1 standard. The Certification Body Control Union Certifications declared that the production of EWOS products was found to be compliant with the standard. EWOS Canada is the first feed mill to achieve this certification with Global G.A.P. in North America.
The managing director for EWOS Canada, Jason Mann said "The Global G.A.P. certification is evidence of the high level of quality management at EWOS Canada and as such an important certification to our customers".
With the certification of EWOS Canada all EWOS operating companies are certified according to the Global G.A.P. standard.
Global G.A.P. is a private sector body that sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural products around the globe. The aim is to establish ONE standard for Good Agricultural Practice (G.A.P.) with different product applications capable of fitting to the whole of global agriculture.
Global G.A.P. has set rules and regulations to acknowledge an established assurance system of Compound Feed Manufacturers (CFMs). It helps livestock and aquaculture producers to select appropriate and assured resources for suppliers of compound feed.
The Global G.A.P. module serves as a reference standard for use by compound feed manufacturers and compound feed manufacturer assurance schemes to demonstrate that they follow the Global G.A.P. requirements. Global G.A.P. recognises existing CFM-standards and quality assurance systems of compound feed manufacturers.
