Malaysia - Nuinfra Mutiara Feedmill Sdn Bhd, involved in feedmill production, plans to export its Mutiara-labelled animal feed next year.
General Manager (Marketing) Nuinfra Mohammad Ikmal Hisham said currently Mutiara is only sold in Malaysia.
"We produce about three tonnes of feedmill for cattle, goats and fishes every day. Next year, we propose to export our feedmill to countries like Australia, Japan and South Korea," he told us on Monday.
Nuinfra Mutiara Feedmill, a wholly-owned Bumiputera company, started operations at the Gong Badak Industrial Estate in 2008. It has a paid-up capital of RM1 million now.
Nuinfra Mohammad said his company would increase its production capacity when it adds one more feedmill processing machine next year.
"Now we have two feedmill processing machines. With the addition of another machine, we hope to achieve our higher production target," he said.
He said the demand for feedmill in the country was higher than production, about 1,000 metric tonnes a month, while production was only 700 metric tonnes.
He also said his company had a feedmill processing plant in Jakarta which has a production capacity of 250 metric tonnes a month.
A 50kg bag Mutiara goat feed is sold at RM37 and RM29 per 150kg bag cattle feed in the domestic market.
Mutiara received the halal certification from the Terengganu Religious Affairs Department Oct 8 this year.
