On Friday, Cargill Agri Purina, a subsidiary of Cargill, carried out a ground breaking ceremony on the site of it's proposed new feed mill. The feed milling complex, with a total investment of $91 million USD, is to be built in the Pyeongtaek Dangjin Harbour foreign investment zone, Dangjin-gun, North Chungcheong Province, South Korea. The feed mill is forecast to be completed before May 2014, and will provide feed to the domestic livestock customers.
The state of the art feed mill is to be Cargill's largest capacity feed mill in the world, and it will have a capacity of 870,000 MT a year. Featuring the latest modern technologues, the feed mill will endeavor to achieve the highest possible grade of feed and food safety, to supply to Korea's feed industry.
President and CEO of Cargil Agri Purina Korea, Dr Lee Bo Kyeun, said at the ceremony, “Our new feed mill is a significant investment that reaffirms our commitment to the sustainable growth and prosperity of Korea’s feed and livestock industry. We have been a leader in Korea’s feed industry for more than 45 years, and the new feed mill will enable us to better serve our customers with advanced technology and high quality, safe animal feed.”

We also would like to thank the ChungNamDo, DangJinGun and Pyungtaek Regional Maritime Affairs and Port Office for their strong support and for building ancillary infrastructure,”
The Dangjin feed mill comes on the heels of the innovational Cargill Agri Purina Korea’s new Asia-Pacific Technology Application center which is currently being built in Pyeongchang, in the North of the country. Which when it is finished, will assist Cargill Agri Purina Korea in providing customer focused innovation to all customers located in the Asia-Pacific region, by carrying out application type research and employee training.
