New Hope Group is to build up a vertically integrated live hog project in Chongqing with an investment of RMB 1.26 billion.
It's the first time for the group to extend from feed manufacturing to such downstream links as live hog farming, slaughtering and intensive processing in the city of Chongqing, as an attempt to layout its whole industrial chain here.
According to relevant sources, RMB 410 million is to be put into farming establishments while RMB 850 million will go to slaughtering and processing. This project is to be accomplished within 5 years, i.e. before 2018.
As planned, upon the time into operation, annual live hog output capacity will reach 320,000 heads, slaughtering and processing capacity to 500,000 heads, feed consumption to 105,000 tonnes, pork production capacity to 28,000 tonnes, meat products to 8,000 tonnes, creating additional output value of RMB 1.5 billion and profit of RMB 330 million.
