New grain elevator commissioned in Ovrutskyi District

A new grain elevator was commissioned today in Radchytsi village in Ovrutskyi District. The grand opening of the facility was attended by RSA chairman Sergei Mashkovsky, Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Roman Vashchuk, director of the group of companies «Ukrlandfarming» Galina Galina Kovtok, chairman of the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko and representatives of local government.

The new elevator operated by Ukrlandfarming has a storage capacity of 91.5 thousand tonnes of maize. Other parts of the new construction include 5 containers of 32,000 tonnes and 8 storage tanks with capacity of 68,000 tonnes. Separation of grain, drying, and cleaning machinery were also installed at the facility. Transportation to and from the facility is via the connected rail-line.

The elevator will work around the clock and will be able to receive and handle more than 2,000 tonnes of grain per day. Machinery for the elevator complex was supplied by a Canadian manufacturer, and the construction carried out by Ekorembud LLC. Speaking at the opening RSA chairman, Sergei Mashkovsky, said "the opening of such a powerful elevator - marks a momentous event for Ovruchsky area and Zhytomyr."

"The new grain elevator will allow us to solve the problem of quality storage in the northern areas of the country. It is pleasant to note that in such a difficult time for the country, that there are companies willing to develop their business in our region. As a representative of the regional authorities, we promise to offer full support and promote business in the area."

"We are working to create favourable conditions for investors." The head of the region said that the opening of new industrial projects in the region - is the key to success for local communities, leading to creation of jobs and local revenues. Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, Roman Vashchuk, in his speech pointed out that: "Choosing Canadian storage technology, the company is able to sell quality products at high prices on the world market. This is the result of collaboration between Canadian and Ukrainian businesses and proof that we support any initiatives in your country." According to the diplomat, agriculture itself - is a priority direction of Ukrainian-Canadian relations.

Guests laid a capsule at the cornerstone of the construction of the new feed mill foundations currently under construction. It is expected that the new feed mill facility will have a production capacity of 30 tonnes per hour of animal feed. The new feed mill is scheduled to complete construction and commissioning by the end of 2015.
