Borregaard LignoTech, Norwegian based manufacturers of additives and ingredients to the animal feed industry, have just signed an agreement with Egyptian company Nutrivet Misr for the distribution of its pelleting aids - LignoBond DD and PellTech in Egypt.
Marketing manager for Borregaard LignoTech's feed additives, Stefan Omvik stated 'we see Egypt as a very exciting market. Egyptian feed producers started to produce pelleted feeds only a few years ago and pellet qualities are not yet quite up to international standards."
Omvik continued saying "A poor pellet quality means that there will be a significant segregation of fines during production, handling and transport – in some cases as much as 40-50% of the manufactured feed can be 'lost' as fines before it is served to the animal. Consequently, the animals will not get the full nutritional diet that has been carefully designed for them."
"The use of pelleting aids like LignoBond DD and PellTech will address this problem. We are also confident that Nutrivet Misr is the right partner for us. They have a very competent staff, a lot of contacts and a good reputation in the Egyptian feed industry. Furthermore, they believe in and will prioritize our products. This is essential for us when we evaluate and choose new partners." he concluded.
Talking about the partnership General manager of Nutrivet Misr, Dr Alaa Sarhan said "we are very pleased to go into this partnership with Borregaard LignoTech. We have been interested in adding pelleting aids to our product range for some time now and approached Borregaard because of their well known quality products, technical expertise and experience."
"We will now start to demonstrate the benefits and value of LignoBond DD and PellTech to our customers in Egypt by running feed mill trials. For this purpose we have also purchased a portable New Holmen pellet tester that will be used to measure pellet quality/durability."
