25th Apr, 2006: Vietnam - Cargill Vietnam commissioned Tuesday an aqua feed processing factory in the Mekong Delta province of Can Tho, its sixth feed mill in Vietnam.
The wholly US-invested company’s US$5.5-million mill at the Tra Noc Industrial Park is designed to turn out 70,000 tons of products a year, mostly supplying for the Mekong Delta.
“The new facility will supply better services for fish breeders,” Cargill’s general director Scott Ainslie said.
Fish farmers as well as Cargill’s distributors in the region would no longer need to purchase feed from a factory in Dong Nai province, he said.
Scott said Vietnam was a promising market for animal feed and his company planned to build two or three more mills there till 2010.
Cargill Vietnam currently offers more than 100 feed categories for pigs, fish, and poultry.
Cargill Vietnam is among the leading feed producers in Vietnam, together with Uni-President of Taiwan, Tomboy of France, Vietnam-France joint venture Proconco, C.P. of Thailand, and Cataco of Vietnam.
