Standard Pellet Relief

Standard relief: Dies are often made thicker than required for just the compression of the feed, the reason being to give the die greater strength. Holes are then drilled into the base from the outside diameter of the die, with the larger diameter drill leaving the original hole at the required effective pelleting length.
