Registration is now open for the American Feed Industry Association's 2014 Equipment Manufacturers Conference, Nov. 6-8, in Palm Springs, Calif. This year's theme is Feeding the World: Challenges and Opportunities.
The Equipment Manufacturers Conference is hosted by AFIA and the Equipment Manufacturers Committee. This educational event is designed to address the many issues pertinent to today's equipment designers, builders and installers who serve the feed, pet food and ingredient industries.
The three-day event will kick off with its golf scramble tournament-an annual fundraiser for the EMC Scholarship Fund-to be played at the Desert Springs Golf Club, followed by two days of educational sessions. This year's sessions will cover topics such as climate change impacts, GMOs and world affairs, and future opportunities in the global feed industry.
A wide array of speakers are scheduled to attend including: Kim Koch, Northern Crop Institute; sustainability expert Frank Mitloehner, Ph.D., University of California; Joel Sparks, Foster Farms; Andy Vance, Feedstuffs; and Adel Yusupov, International Feed.
"AFIA is pleased yet again to host an event that melds both fundraising and educational training into one," said Keith Epperson, AFIA vice president of manufacturing and training. "Last year the conference had the highest attendance since 2004, fundraised nearly $2,700 and it was announced the EMC scholarship program would expand to two additional universities--selected earlier this year--and this year's event is already looking to be even more of a success."
