IF Georgian Broiler (Chirina Ltd.) successfully completed the construction of their new feed mill. The new feed mill lies at the heart of Chirina Ltd's fully integrated chicken production business, which is the largest in the region.
Guttridge Ltd, a UK manufacturer of Bulk Materials Handling Machinery, worked alongside main contractor Chief Industries UK Ltd in the construction of the poultry feed plant.
The feed mill will integrate with the company's poultry farms and new (9 million eggs per year) hatchery located in Tbilisi, Georgia, which opened at the end of last year.
Work on the whole feed production facility was completed in 3 months, and was commissioned as scheduled during the maize harvest.
Rapid growth at Chirina Ltd has since led to further expansion and a second phase of the project is already underway which looks at increasing capacity from the current 6,000 tonnes up to 20,000 tonnes.
Guttridge Ltd and Chief Industries UK Ltd, were once again contracted for this upgrade by the poultry firm.
