Kerala Feed's ultra modern computerised cattle- field factory is getting ready to functioning at Thiruvangoor in Kozhikode. Expected production of this unit is 300 metric ton daily.
The construction works began in last September, under the supervision of Uralungal Labour Contractor’s Co-operative Society and it will be completed by March, 2015.
By April first week, the factory is expected to be operational in full swing. The feed plant became a reality at 10.38 acres of land handed over to Kerala Feeds by the Coconut Development Corporation.
An up-rise in agriculture sector and employment opportunities for youth are expected with the launching of this firm.
Once the electrification works are completed, the inauguration can be decided, KITCO authorities said. The cost of the factory is Rs.57.30 crore.
For the storage of raw materials available during seasons, seven silos have been imported from Turkey. Expert engineers will work on the installation of these silos.
A feed mill tower with 35 meter height, has been arranged for milling, mixing, cooking, and pelleting. Computerised Motor Control Centre also has been completed. Rain harvest system for 35 lakh liter, two weighing bridges weighing 60, and 40 are also ready.
A generating working 24 hours with 1010 watts capacity has been installed. Apart form cattle-field, 60 ton goat feeds and coconut extract units are also functional and preparing for launch.
