Agricultural enterprises in Saratov Oblast, have seen strong growth in the first nine months of this year.
The period has seen the volume of slaughtered livestock and poultry grow by 22.9% compared with the same period last year.
This growth was contributed to with the construction of several high-tech industrial pig farms, and the modernisation of poultry farms in the Oblast.
This year, the region has seen 20 investment projects for livestock completed, including:
13 - for dairy cattle (9 of them, new constructions)
2 - for pigs (all new constructions)
5 - for poultry (all renovation and modernisation of existing farms/plants)
One completed project was by the company Ramfud - Volga, which sold an investment project for the construction of a pig farm with production capacity of 150 thousand heads per year. The project is fully integrated with a feed mill being built as part of the project, with a production capacity of 12 tonnes per hour of pig feed.
By year end an additional six animal husbandry facilities are expected to be commissioned in the region. These include 2 for dairy (with capacity of 350 thousand heads of cattle), 2 for pig production (with capacity of 131 thousand heads of pig), and 2 for poultry production (with capacity of 102 thousand birds).
