Peco Foods, the 8th largest poultry producer in the US, are set to invest USD$13.8 million to expand its feed mill in Newark, Arkansas and a processing plant in Batesville, Arkansas, creating in total 300 new jobs.
President and chief executive officer of Peco Foods, Mark Hickman said "Peco Food's expansion into Arkansas was an excellent decision for us and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with the City of Batesville and the State."
Peco Foods processes more than 4.2 million birds and 22 million pounds of ready-to-cook poultry every week.
As an incentive for the project the company is set to receive a $USD$485,000 grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission and USD$175,000 from Independence County Economic Development.
