The AFIA (American Feed Industry Association) will hold a 'FAMI-QS Awareness in Feed Safety Program: Solutions for the Specialty Feed and Mixture Industry' workshop on April 17-18th in Des Moines, Iowa. The workshop will provide useful information which could immediately make an impact on decision-making in daily operations for copmanies operating in the feed industry.
Keeping up and understanding the new regulatory requirements for feed industry operators can be a challenge, in reply to this the AFIA is providing this interactive and comprehensive training course to help companies understand better the regulations of the FAMI-QS program, while helping companies to achieve certification. AFIA’s International Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program, a third-party-verified program for ingredient facilities, also works under the same rules and scope of FAMI-QS.
The FAMI-QS certification programme is benchmarked against European Commission Feed regulations and provides a way for importers & exporters to obtain admission to new foreign markets with greater ease. The AFIA workshop which spans 2 days is set to cover such issues as animal feed safety management, the worldwide importance along with execution of FAMI-QS, EU regulations and compliance, and crisis management and audit planning.
